The funeral directing business of M L Williams Funeral Directors began in Ayr in February 1982 when Mr Michael Leslie Williams was made redundant from large department store Affleck’s of Ayr when it closed. Mike worked as the in-house Funeral Director in Affleck’s for 11 years.
Mike continues with the firm as an ambassador and mentor and his care and assistance is invaluable. As long-established funeral directors in Ayr, we bring experience and empathy –advising you on every step of the funeral planning process.

Our current building was built in 2005 and is has a service room which seats 50, and two private viewing rooms. We also have 15 parking spaces onsite, with additional street parking available, meaning we can cater for many visitors, friends and relatives.

We are located not far from Newton-on-Ayr train station with Masonhill Crematorium only a 10 min drive away.
